Minimax Contrast Enhancement of Composite Trichromatic Images using Dirichlet Tessellation

This paper demonstrates a technique for constructing a mapping between pixel values and pixel colours to create a composite colour image in which the colours are distributed uniformly in RGB colour space. Visual inspection of such an image utilises the full range of the human visual system, both in terms of intensity and hue. The perceived result is an enhanced image which usually has a subjectively higher level of contrast than the original, both in terms of hue and intensity.
